Rewrap time for Matt's Cleveland era Rogers set. With white paint over heavily sanded wrap, salvaging of the original finish is unfortunately not possible. These will be rewrapped in period correct blue glass glitter with matching inlaid BD hoops 🔷️🔹️🥁🔹️🔷️

On June 3rd 1992 the High Court of Australia overturned the long upheld British doctrine of "terra nullius" in what came to be known as the Mabo decision, a landmark event resulting in the native title act. This occurred in my lifetime. I can still remember this event transpiring even if I had absolutely no sense of what it meant at the time. It's not as if we were taught about at school in between fawning over white explorers and bushrangers and reading Paul Jennings books. What I do remember though is seeing Eddie Mabo on TV. As Richard Morecroft introduced the story night after night for months on end an image of Eddie Mabo sat above his right shoulder. Proud, strong, determined, bold, unwavering. I didn't know a thing about who he was then, and what I know now is nothing more than the kind of smattering of knowledge that so many ostensibly progressive white Australians carry with them to assuage their collective guilt and shame, but suffice it to say this country has its own injustices its own history and its own heroes. Eddie Mabo was a Meriam man from the Torres Strait Islands, and guess what? He was also a drum builder. This first photo is of the Mabo memorial in Townsville. Drop filling underway on Damien's immaculate 1968 Ludwig Hollywood outfit - This process involves filling deep scratches and chips with clear epoxy, which will be flushed back by sanding and buffing to integrate it seamlessly with the surrounding wrap once it has set. Shallower scratches and scuffs will be removed by sanding and buffing only, but these deeper lines must be filled first. A slow and delicate process, but the results will bring this kit one step closer to looking factory fresh once again 🥁🤩

With some intensive restoration work it's now looking factory fresh once again. 🥁🥁🥁 ✔all parts disassembled, cleaned and polished ✔stripped FT and BD spur mount threads repaired using threaded inserts ✔chipped and cracked BD hoops stripped, filled and refinished ✔missing hoop inlay replaced with vintage champagne sparkle taken from our archive of old stock wrap ✔all bearing edges trued and recut to original full round over 'baseball bat' profile accompanying snare stand, pedal and L-arm serviced and polished and snare basket tips re-dipped in new black latex ✔new heads including a 14" Kentville Drums - Kangaroo Hide Drumheads medium batter for the snare ✔ period correct slingerland BD decal to finish

Hate flakey people, love flakey drums - Padraic's supra following a service, clean and polish and replacement of missing badge. Like many old supraphonics, pitting and flaking of the chrome was quite severe, but we got it looking as good as possible and repaired a badly distorted p85 strainer in the process. A must have classic any way you look at it
